Increasing Number of Providers Using Online Tools

According to feedback we received from providers on our annual satisfaction survey, the Northeast Care Management Center has seen a marked increase in the percentage of providers who are willing to conduct business and interact with Magellan via the Internet – from 53 percent to 66 percent. We also saw increases in the total number of providers who have been trained on the use of Magellan’s website, and in satisfaction with that training (from 88 percent in 2006 to 92 percent in 2007). In addition, provider-initiated transactions on the Magellan website nationally rose from 2.78 million in 2006 to 3.86 million in 2007.

Magellan is pleased to offer a variety of online services you can use to help enhance both the clinical and administrative aspects of your work as a Magellan provider. Whether you are a new Magellan provider or have worked with us for some time, there are a variety of online services available to assist you.

  1. GHI and NHP:  Providers now can access benefits and eligibility, and view claim status
  2. Horizon, Vermont, GHI, and NHP:  Providers can complete initial outpatient authorizations, concurrent review authorizations, and obtain authorization letters.

Our website User Guides provide concise, step-by-step instructions about how to complete various administrative tasks on the MagellanHealth.com/provider Web site. The MagellanHealth.com/provider website also provides demos of online tools, which offer self-paced training modules* designed to help you navigate Magellan’s Web-based applications in the area of claims, electronic transactions and more.
