Resiliency and Recovery Trainings Are Well-Received
Magellan is pleased to report that providers from across the country are participating in and benefiting from our free online resiliency and recovery e-courses. In addition, Magellan continues to actively support and sponsor other training efforts on this important topic, in partnership with several national organizations.
You can access our online training modules from this website, from the top-menu item “Education,” then select “Online Training.”
“To date, many practitioners, including those who are social workers, counselors, psychiatrists and registered nurses, from 42 states, have submitted surveys after completing our online trainings,” according to Tom Lane, Magellan’s national director of consumer and recovery services. “And the feedback we’ve received has been positive.”
One provider wrote, “I am taking all your classes. I work in mental health at the VA hospital. We are moving toward recovery programs to help the veterans become more successful in their ability to live out in the community. Your classes are teaching me new skills and I have better knowledge about the recovery process.”
Magellan has partnered with national experts in behavioral health recovery and resiliency to offer these e-courses for providers, consumers, family members and other stakeholders. The trainings are free of charge and were developed in collaboration with Recovery Innovation, Child Family Support Services, the Family Involvement Center, consumers and family members.
Magellan also furthers resiliency and recovery through its partnerships with national advocacy organizations including National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), U.S. Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (USPRA), National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health (National Federation), Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA), and Network for the Improvement of Addiction Treatment (NIATx).
Together, we are empowering individuals and families to better understand the role they play in their recovery and strengthen their resiliency to cope with life’s challenges.
