Iowa Plan Achieves 90 Percent Overall Provider Satisfaction
Magellan requests feedback from providers each year through the Iowa Plan Provider Satisfaction Survey. The most recent survey was conducted in February 2008 and had a response rate of 52.2 percent.
Overall satisfaction among providers measured 89.6 percent. This percentage not only exceeded the goal of 75 percent, but it topped the Iowa Plan’s performance from the past two years.

The three items that scored the highest on the provider survey are:
- Professional behavior and courtesy of Magellan staff – 95%
- Responsiveness of care managers when you need them – 93.4%
- Availability of care managers when you need them – 91.2%
The three items that scored the lowest on the provider survey are:
- Magellan’s general concept and philosophy – 82.3%
- Amount of time it normally takes to get through to someone who can help you – 85.1%
- Time it takes the Credentialing Department to get back to you regarding your status as a provider – 86.1%
