Magellan Manages Care for Dependents of Medicare Subscribers
Magellan continues to manage care for all State of Michigan members who are not enrolled in Medicare, including the dependents of retirees and other Medicare-eligible subscribers. As of January 1, 2008, only the Medicare-eligible State of Michigan members were transferred from Magellan to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s Medicare Advantage Program for the management of mental health and substance abuse benefits.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) has posted a State of Michigan Mental Health Case Management Network (SOM/ program 65), on its BCBSM.com website. The BCBSM network only covers the individual Medicare subscriber. We want to make sure that you are aware that this is a separate and distinct network from Magellan’s State of Michigan mental health and substance abuse network.
Contact Magellan for mental health or substance abuse services for all State of Michigan covered members in a family except the Medicare Advantage subscriber.
