Go Green! Providers Can Stop Receiving Authorizations by Mail

Choose to suppress mailings using our new online tool

In an electronic age where big stacks of paper are becoming a thing of the past, Magellan providers now have the environmentally friendly option to suppress their hard copy mailed authorization correspondence via our secure website.

The process is simple. Just sign in to your account at www.MagellanHealth.com/provider. Under “My Practice” on the left-hand side, click on “Manage Mail Options.” Click the option “Suppress Paper Print,” then “Accept Terms.”

If you choose to “suppress paper print,” authorization letters will no longer be mailed and will be available for Web viewing only. The online authorizations are in the same letter format currently delivered through the U.S. Mail.

In some instances, state law or Magellan customers may require that authorization information be communicated via phone call and/or fax; these communications will continue even if you suppress the mailing of your printed hard copy. Also, please note, denial correspondence will still be sent via U.S. Mail and/or fax (where applicable).

We hope the addition of this functionality into Magellan’s suite of provider tools helps stem the tide of your administrative paperwork while at the same time helps us all do our part to reduce environmental waste.
