Getting Online...and Saving Time

We applaud providers for an “across the board” increase in their use of Magellan’s online submission tools

From 2007 to 2008, the Southwest Care Management Center realized a 27 percent increase in online treatment request form (TRF) submissions—with the percentage of TRFs “successfully submitted to Magellan electronically by providers” going up by an impressive 33 percent. In addition, the percent of claims submitted to Magellan electronically by providers increased by 7 percent from last year.

We know your time is valuable, and that you expect prompt authorization decisions and punctual claims payment. As more providers realize—as you did—the advantages of submitting TRFs and claims via www.MagellanHealth.com/provider (faster turnaround times for both authorizations and claims payment, less paperwork, more efficient status tracking), we hope to see a continued boost in Web-based submissions. 

For providers interested in making the switch, Magellan is pleased to offer access to online training tools available on this provider website. The “demos” walk you through submitting professional claims electronically through our Claims Courier application, as well as illustrate other related online transactions.

To access the demos on this site, click the “Education” tab and select “Online Training” from the drop-down menu. Remember to check back often as we add new trainings as needs arise.

Additionally, to submit online TRFs, sign in to the secure section of this Magellan website using your secure username and password. After sign-in, select My Authorizations/Get More Outpatient Authorizations, and follow the form instructions.
