Providers Must Complete Language Capability Form
To comply with the new California law on language assistance, Magellan must obtain information regarding your language capabilities, as well as the capabilities of your practice’s office staff and employed providers. We can no longer use information you may have previously furnished regarding bilingual competence.
We recently sent you a contract amendment mailing that included a “Language Capability Verification” form. We ask that you return the form promptly in order to help us keep current on language capabilities in your office and to comply with state regulations. If you rely on office staff to communicate with members with limited English proficiency(LEP), you must submit the form quarterly, whether or not there are changes.
We make the information on providers’ language capabilities available in our provider directory, so members with LEP can access provider offices where they can communicate most effectively.
Please keep a copy of the Language Capability Verification form for future filings; if you need another copy, call our Provider Services Line at 1-800-405-7888.
Magellan is dedicated to maintaining accurate provider information in our records in order to best serve our members, so we request your help in providing us with the most updated information for you and your staff.
