Pennsylvania Care Management Centers Receive Awards
Magellan’s Newtown, Pa., Care Management Center recently received the 2008 Corporate Citizen of the Year award from Family Service Association (FSA) of Bucks County; the Newtown center and the Lehigh Valley Care Management Center also received Magellan corporate awards for clinical excellence.
FSA recognized Magellan as Corporate Citizen of the Year for working with them to develop peer counseling and in-school mental health services.
At Magellan’s annual behavioral health clinical leadership conference – a program designed to share best practices companywide and discuss emerging behavioral health trends and issues – our two Pennsylvania care management centers received awards for operational excellence, presented by Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, the event’s keynote speaker.
- The Newtown Care Management Center was honored for its collaborative effort to use better practices in managing residential treatment, and to improve the quality of care for children and adolescents in three southeastern Pennsylvania counties.
- The Lehigh Valley Care Management Center was recognized for planning and implementing a “Day of Recovery Training,” which culminated in an awards ceremony that recognized local providers and consumers who promote the concepts of recovery and resiliency.
