Providers Benefit from Manage Mail Option; Save Time and Trees
As announced in our last issue, Magellan providers now have the environmentally friendly option to suppress their hard copy mailed authorization correspondence via our secure website.
Since the rollout of the "Manage Mail Options" function in July, 931 providers have signed up and 32,646 pieces of paper were suppressed. If this data doesn’t convince you to take advantage of Magellan’s innovative online tool, just read what your peers have to say:
“Cumberland Heights recently decided to stop receiving authorizations by mail and to use the new online authorization retrieval system. I wanted to let you know that we are thrilled with this new feature. In the past, Cumberland Heights might get multiple copies of authorizations to the physician, business office, and utilization review. We would open all the letters and then scan them into our system for future use. With your new online authorization feature, we have been able to save time and resources by viewing them at the website when needed.
An added feature is that we can review authorizations faster than when they were sent by mail and they are available to use in a HIPAA-secure format for a long period of time.
