SF-BH™ Results Added to EAP Provider Profiles
Magellan enhanced our quality reporting process this year by adding SF-BH™ clinical outcome measurements to your EAP Provider Profile. The SF-BH is a Magellan Health Services proprietary outcomes measurement document. We ask members seeking care to voluntarily complete the SF-BH assessment online or via hard copy in the provider’s office at the time of the initial referral, and again periodically, to demonstrate the impact of treatment on mental health and physical health symptoms during the course of care. An overview article about this Magellan quality initiative called Members in Treatment Report Positive Gains can be found in the winter 2009 Provider Focus.
Encourage Your Members in Care to Complete SF-BH Assessments
Clinical outcome measurements are important to help both members and providers identify how and when your members in care are improving. In order to reap the greatest benefit from the SF-BH, providers should encourage members to complete the assessment at the time of treatment initiation, every four weeks during active treatment, and/or at the time of discharge. The Magellan Outcomes Library supports our providers with detailed information on how to administer the outcomes assessment process.
Access Your SF-BH Data Online
If you did not receive an EAP Provider Profile this spring because you did not close at least nine EAP member cases in the past calendar year, you can still access your SF-BH outcomes report compiled from all of your EAP and managed care members who have participated in the SF-BH assessment. Sign in with your secure username and password on this website, then from the left-hand side choose My Outcomes / Manage Outcomes to review individual member progress and receive updated SF-BH reports anytime.
If you have questions about your EAP Provider Profile and newly added SF-BH outcomes report, please call the Magellan EAP affiliate manager for your state.
