On June 1, 2010, Magellan Health Services implemented a national medication-assisted treatment (MAT) intervention to battle substance use disorders. The MAT intervention focuses on increasing the appropriate use of proven medications as part of the discharge treatment plan for members completing inpatient treatment for a primary Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) diagnosis.
At Magellan, we seek continuous quality improvement by setting – and attaining – a high benchmark of excellence. That is why we are pleased to announce that we have again earned certification as a Credentials Verification Organization (CVO) by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
Quality is our top priority. We have many approaches and tools to monitor our services and outcomes, but none as compelling as our member satisfaction surveys. Magellan conducts an annual survey of members who have accessed services, and uses the results to illustrate a picture identifying areas of high performance—and, just as important, areas where we need to improve.
