Medicaid Members Age 65 and Older Now Enrolled in Iowa Plan
On July 1, Medicaid members age 65 and older became enrolled automatically in the Iowa Plan for Behavioral Health, administered by Magellan Behavioral Care of Iowa.
Members receive expanded services through the Iowa Plan. These services, not available previously through the state plan, include community support, mobile counseling, psychiatric in-home nursing assertive community treatment, intensive psychiatric rehabilitation, substance abuse services and peer support.
To verify a member’s enrollment in Medicaid or the Iowa Plan, a provider enrolled with Medicaid can call the ELVS line at 1-800-338-7752 or make an inquiry through the EDISS Web portal. For Medicaid members on the Elderly Waiver, we have worked with the member’s case manager on a smooth transition to the Iowa Plan and appropriate services.
