Magellan Updates Outcomes Library
Through Magellan’s Outcomes360SM system—developed in conjunction with QualityMetric, Incorporated, the industry leader in health status measurement—we offer providers access to online outcomes resources including clinical assessment instruments that help obtain self-reported member information related to health, wellness and quality of life.
Designed to measure improvement in members’ conditions over time, these brief tools include:
- SF-BH Behavioral Health Assessment — Tool completed by members age 18 and older covered by private health insurance plans.
- Consumer Health Inventory (CHI) — Tool completed by consumers age 14 and older covered by government (e.g., federal and state) sponsored programs.
- Consumer Health Inventory – Child Version (CHI-C) — Tool completed by caregivers of children under 18 years old.
As part of our continuous commitment to outcomes, Magellan updated the content in our Outcomes Library to better support your use of the Outcomes360 system when providing personalized care to Magellan members. The Library contains sample assessment tools and background information on the clinical outcomes process for your reference. Materials include brief Provider Overview documents that explain the assessment administration process as well as other helpful supporting documentation and instructions.
Along with updates to the Provider Guide, we recently made changes to the following items:
- User’s Guide— Helpful screen shots that explain how to administer Outcomes360 tools.
- Member Consumer Information Sheet—Consumer hand-outs for introducing Outcomes360 that briefly explain the process and its advantages.
- Provider Information Sheet—Overview of Outcomes360 features for provider training.
- Fax-Tips—Instructions for faxing Outcomes360 tools.
- Member Personal Log—For use by members/consumers as a status update and cover sheet when saving their reports.
- Provider Training on Consumer Outcomes—Overview training on Outcomes360.
We value you and your commitment to positive member outcomes and encourage you to use the SF-BH, CHI and/or CHI-C in your practice.
