Magellan’s Integrated Substance Use Solutions
Magellan’s program promotes the treatment and support critical for the management and maintenance of substance use disorders as chronic conditions—and seeks to reduce the likelihood of acute events. The integrated program focuses on medication-assisted treatment with the most-effective pharmacological remedies available, care management, clinical interventions, personalized substance use coaching, increased provider education and improved member self-management. Our evidence-based approach built on principles of recovery, also involves early assessment, the integration of substance use and behavioral services, and innovative technology in social networking and community support systems.
While the overall program touches many aspects of our daily clinical activities and continually is evolving, some innovative components include:
- Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
- Office-Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT)
- Ambulatory Detoxification
- Co-Occurring Disorders
- Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral, and Treatment (SBIRT)
Our evidence-based approach forms the cornerstone of all of our efforts to serve members battling substance use disorders.
