Depression Screening for Adolescents with Autism in California
The goal of Magellan's* Depression Screening Program for Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in California is the early identification of a co-occurring depressive disorder in adolescents with autism to facilitate the appropriate intervention, referral, treatment and education about the management of co-morbid behavioral health conditions.
What you need to do
If you are an applied behavior analysis (ABA) provider, we ask that you conduct a depression screening for all members, ages 12 and older, at the start of treatment and every six months thereafter, using the Depression Screening section of the Magellan ABA Treatment Plan Template (from Whooley Depression Screening).
You may email a copy of the completed screening tool to your Magellan ABA care manager, along with treatment plan submissions, via encrypted email to:
- [email protected] for Scripps Health Plan
*In California, Magellan does business as Human Affairs International of California and/or Magellan Health Services of California, Inc. – Employer Services.
